Tel Aviv is the second most populous city of Israel, located on the Mediterranean coast. It is the main city of the largest and most populous metropolitan area in Israel, Gush Dan (Dan Bloc), which has a population of 3.04 million. The city itself has a population of 382,500 over an area covering 50,553 dunams (50.6 km² or 19.5 sq mi). As of 2007, it has been named the costliest city in the Middle East.

The City of Tel Aviv was originally founded in the 1880s by Jewish immigrants as an alternative to the expensive neighbouring, historic town of Jaffa.

Tel Aviv grew and grew, and eventually overtook the Arab dominated town. The two towns became united in the single municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo in 1950, two years after the establishment of the State of Israel. Tel Aviv is today viewed by many as Israel’s economic capital (Jerusalem is the official capital) and the city lies in the area known internationally as Silicon Wadi.

Tel Aviv is also viewed by many to be the country’s cultural capital with a vibrant, modern, cosmopolitan character, and a UNESCO World Heritage Status for its Bauhaus architecture.

The Towers

This is a big shopping mall in the new towers by the highway (Ayalon highway). The food court has a decent sushi bar too for good fast food. Also, go to the top floor of the shoping mall and walk out to the entrance to the towers, but instead just stand and look up at the towers. It looks very cool trust me. I don’t know whan bus takes you there, but take it and shop till you drop.

Vino-Cigar

The Vino-Cigar shop in the Azrielli Tower shopping center carries a fine selection of Israeli wines that you can take home. We have also been to two wine tasting days. The last offered a selection of close to 50 Israeli wines.

Dizingof Center

Dizingof Center is one of the most famous malls here in Israel , located in Dizingof street and you can find here a lot of stores and restaurants. As far as i remember there is a food market every friday and you can taste and buy food from local restaurants.

5 Stars Mall

This mall considered as a very good and elegant place because its situated at Ramat aviv, one of the most prestigious areas in Tel aviv. Located in a very desirable place and even has a small lakes near it, and the high tower of Africa-Israel. The mall as around 120 great shops.

This is a very tsyish place so there are many fashion shops such: Tommy Hilfiger, Celio, Celvin Klein, Zara and more. there are also sport, jewlery, pharmacy, books and other shops. There are many restaurants on the higher floor, the parking is huge and very special and organized, you pay for your ticket when you are still at the exit from the mall to the parking (you will see the special machines) and not at the way ou of the parking.

Its a pretty expensive place, at least some of the international fashion stores.

Azrieli Mall

Two levels fully occupied shopping mall, where you can find Israeli and outside merchandises, restaurants, and eight movie halls. When you finish shoppings, you can climb up to the 49th floor to the observatory and enjoy 360 degrees view of Tel Aviv.

Cafe Batia

Established in 1941, this cafe boasts that it is Tel Aviv’s oldest Jewish restaurant still in business. Indeed, there is a quality to the place, beyond the historic photos on the walls and the traditional Ashkenazi Jewish menu, an authenticity that only comes with time. In addition to beer, a full range of cocktails is offered. Live jazz is featured on Fridays, 2p-5p and Sundays 9p-midnight. Prices are moderately expensive, although the house beers are quite cheap.
